We had an excellent three course meal for around 28 per head at their Swan restaurant. Then wine tasting, followed by beer and cider tasting and concluding with their gin & vodka. The star for me was their IPA beer. The wines were good but mainly white and fizzy which isnt my preference, but the guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. A pleasant way to spend a winter afternoon.
Already a lover of the Chapel Down wines, just had a wine tour and lunch at Chapel Down winery via a gift voucher. Our guide Charlie was fantastic...knowledgable, informative, amusing and enthusiastic. Great choice of wines to be tried at the tasting. The food in the restaurant was great, not quite the same enthusiasm from the restaurant staff as our guide, but still a good meal and good service. A great day out. I would highly recommend the wine tour here.

Earlier this month we had the pleasure of visiting Chapel Down. It was our intention to do a full tour but we were pressed for time so instead were welcomed onto the grounds to explore at our own pace. I believe that harvesting had recently occurred, but some grapes still clung to the vines as we took a leisurely stroll. We did taste a few out of curiosity! The entire vineyard also seems to be ring fenced with blackberry bushes. It all really was pretty as a picture and we found it easy to follow the maps with information provided on each grape type.The shop assistants were all very friendly and extremely helpful. We felt completely at ease, being only hobbyist wine lovers. After making selections for tastings we were given a trio of glasses and permitted to take our time in enjoying each. Needless to say we both found suitable purchases and left for home very pleased indeed, with plans to return next year.
Well worth adding as a destination if visiting the area or for a local day out. Free, self-guided walks around the vineyards and small herb garden. Excellent tasting rooms and well-stocked, premium gift shop with the full range of wines, beers, ciders and now spirits, with a newly released gin.
